Struwwelpeter: The Child Guzzler [ETC Toys Variant]

Solid Resin
13" [H]
Hand Painted/Acrylics

Available for the first time online, this piece was hand painted by ETC Toys, and is one of only two painted variants. Due to the blood sweat and tears that went into the first and only run of this monster, there is no intention to make any more of these pieces. Once they're gone... they're gone.

As the first original resin designer toy produced by MJC in 2018, this character borrows its name from a 1845 German children's book by Heinrich Hoffmann entitled Der Struwwelpeter.

ORIGINS:
Struwwelpeter will celebrate his 30th year in this reality in 2021, having had multiple incarnations over the years. As a character once simply referred to as Stilts, he began his journey into corporeality in 1991, as a member of a series of misshapen and surreal characters called the 'Jester Series'. Drawing upon nightmares for inspiration, these characters were inspired by a variety of things throughout MJC's childhood, primarily Punch & Judy cartoons, and the Blue Meanies from the Beatles Yellow Submarine.

Over the years, the character evolved into its current form, with the Struwwelpeter moniker, in an original screenplay by MJC entitled Le Secte Brutale. It was a story of the origins of the bogeyman.
